1.1. Information from Spotify

When you register for Tune Tracker, we collect information from your Spotify account via Spotify's API. This includes:

Your Spotify username and display name
Your Spotify profile picture
Your Spotify user ID
Your Spotify email address
Your Spotify country
Your listening history and followed artists

1.2. Payment Information

For users subscribing to the Pro Plan, payment processing is handled securely by Stripe. We do not store your credit card details. Payment information is collected, processed, and stored by Stripe in accordance with their Privacy Policy. We receive and store your subscription status, plan type, and billing cycle dates from Stripe.

1.3. Push Notification Data

To send you notifications about new releases, recaps, and updates, we store your device token and push notification subscription details. You can manage your notification preferences in the app settings.

1.4. Automatically Collected Data

When you use our service, we may automatically collect technical data such as your IP address (used for approximate geolocation to serve region-appropriate content), browser type, device type, and general usage analytics to improve our service.

2. How We Use Your Information

Your data is used to:

Provide and personalize the Tune Tracker service (e.g., new release notifications, listening stats)
Send you relevant updates and notifications you opted into
Display your Spotify statistics and listening insights
Process subscription payments and manage your account
Improve and maintain the reliability of our service
Comply with legal obligations

3. Sharing of Information

We share your information only when necessary to operate our service:

Spotify — As required for authentication and access to their API to provide our core service.
Stripe — For payment processing and subscription management. Stripe acts as our payment processor and processes your payment data under their own privacy policy.
Infrastructure providers — We use cloud hosting and database services to store and process your data. These providers process data on our behalf under strict contractual obligations.
Legal requirements — As required by law, regulation, or legal process, or to protect the rights, safety, and property of Tune Tracker, its users, or others.

We do not share your personal data with advertisers or data brokers.

4. Data Retention

We retain different types of data for different periods based on the purpose for which it was collected:

Account data (Spotify profile, email, preferences) — Retained for as long as your account is active. Deleted within 30 days of account deletion.
Listening history and stats — Retained for as long as your account is active. Deleted within 30 days of account deletion.
Payment records — Subscription status and billing history are retained for up to 7 years after your last transaction, as required by tax and accounting regulations.
Push notification tokens — Deleted when you disable notifications or delete your account.
Server logs and analytics — Automatically purged after 90 days.

When you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize all personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.

5. Your Data Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction (including under GDPR, UK GDPR, and similar laws), you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

Right of access — Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
Right to rectification — Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete personal data.
Right to erasure — Request deletion of your personal data. You can do this directly by deleting your account from the account page.
Right to restrict processing — Request that we limit how we use your data in certain circumstances.

Account Management — You can manage your subscription and account preferences via the account page.
Unsubscribing from Notifications — Notification preferences can be updated via the account page.

Revoking Spotify Access — You can revoke Tune Tracker's access to your Spotify account through Spotify's account settings.

8. Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including encrypted communications (TLS), secure payment processing via Stripe, and access controls on our infrastructure. For more details, see our Security page. However, no system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date, and significant updates will be communicated via email or in-app notifications.
