Changelog
All the newest features, fixes and improvements we've shipped for Tune Tracker.
Onboarding, referrals, streaks, and recaps
This release focuses on helping new users get started and giving existing users more reasons to stay engaged.
Improved onboarding
New accounts now follow a short guided setup: choose the artists you want to follow, enable notifications, and begin using the app. All of these settings can be changed at any time.
Referral program
Share your referral link from the Account page. When a friend subscribes to Pro and pays for their first month, you receive one month of credit applied to your next invoice.
Global leaderboard
Compare your monthly listening time with other Tune Tracker users. Participation is opt-in: your name and listening minutes are only displayed if you enable the leaderboard in Account settings.
Listening streaks
The home page now shows your current listening streak and your longest streak to date. If you miss a day, a streak freeze preserves your progress. You earn one freeze every 7 days and can hold up to two at a time.
Recaps overview
The recaps list has returned. You can now browse all of your monthly recaps in one place and open any of them.
Tune Tracker is now available on Google Play
Tune Tracker is now available on Google Play. It is the same app you already know, now easier to install on your device.
Download it from the Google Play Store.
An App Store release is in progress. We will announce it here as soon as it is available.
A rebuilt backend and the first steps toward native apps
This release delivers one of our most significant internal upgrades to date.
Backend rebuilt
We rewrote the entire backend from the ground up. This provides a stronger foundation for our planned features, along with improved reliability and long-term scalability.
App updated
The app has been fully updated to work with the new backend, resulting in a smoother and more consistent experience throughout.
Native apps: development has begun
With this foundation in place, we have officially started native app development. It is still early, but it marks the first major step toward bringing Tune Tracker to mobile.
Smarter EP detection
We improved how EPs are handled. When Spotify labels a release as a "single" but it contains multiple tracks, Tune Tracker now recognizes it as an EP and adds every track to your playlist, rather than only the first.
Fixed an issue affecting monthly recaps
Some users were not receiving their monthly recap. Following a user report, we identified the cause and resolved it. Recaps will now be delivered to all users going forward.
If you were affected, you may still be missing your last two recaps. We apologize for the inconvenience.
Performance improvements and a new blog
This release includes a round of performance improvements.
We have also launched the Tune Tracker blog, with more posts planned. Read the latest on the blog.
Track your total Spotify listening time
You can now see exactly how much time you have spent listening on Spotify, broken down by day and by month.
Whether you want to understand your daily habits or see the bigger picture, everything is available on your Stats page.
Timezone support and smarter notifications
Tune Tracker now fully supports timezones. Regardless of where you are, notifications will arrive at the correct local time.
Notifications are also now batched together, so you receive fewer, more relevant updates without the clutter.

Tune Tracker is live
We are pleased to announce that Tune Tracker is now live.
Thank you to everyone who supported us along the way. We look forward to continuing to improve the platform and ship new features.
Recap redesign and social sharing
We have redesigned the Recap feature to be more engaging and visually polished. You can also now share your recaps directly to social media. We hope you enjoy showcasing your music journey.
Automatic playlist updates
This release introduces two new playlist features.
- Auto-add to playlists: automatically add new releases to your favorite playlists. Choose which artists feed into each playlist, and assign multiple artists to a single playlist.
- Exclude tags: keep playlists focused by excluding remixes, covers, live versions, or extended mixes. This can be configured per playlist.
Discover music your way, with more control than ever.
The first release of Tune Tracker
We are pleased to launch the first version of Tune Tracker. While we await Spotify's API approval, we have built a fully functional platform. The following features are already in place:
- Artists and releases: add your favorite artists and keep track of their latest releases.
- Notifications: receive instant alerts whenever your favorite artists release new music.
- Listening stats: explore detailed insights into your listening habits, powered by Spotify.
- Recap: receive a monthly recap of your top tracks and artists.
Thank you for joining us on this journey. More is on the way.
